About us... (this is a great story)
The WARM MOUSE came about out of necessity. Working on the computer all day, in a cold office and, suffering the onset of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, along with some Arthritis symptoms, my mouse hand was always cold. It was often stiff and aching from the cold. I could put a space heater under my desk, but that did nothing for my cold mouse hand.
If only my mouse were WARM.
At a point in my career where I was wanting to do something different and needing a challenge, I’m thinking….. everyone needs a warm mouse. I seized the opportunity and developed the warm mouse.
It became my mission to bring the warm mouse to everyone who was suffering the same symptoms as I…surely there must be millions. Everyone has a computer. Many are on it all day long, regardless of the office temperature, arthritis, carpal tunnel… cold, stiff achy fingers….
I was off --into uncharted territory. Bringing a new product to market. I had no idea what was ahead, but it was compelling, exciting…exhilarating.
The stars were in alignment...
While visiting an old friend on the other coast, I told him about my idea. He was as excited about the project as I was. He says to me “I’m in”. I had not considered a partner. But then,
I gave it a ‘tink… a partner would make this venture 50% less riskier. So I said “Okay!”.
It’s true. Two heads are better than one. We were both committed. We were excited. We played ideas back and forth.Then it was down to the nitty-gritty in the months that followed.
The Warm Mouse was developed to include many benefits. Not only did it keep my hand warm, it radiates beneficial FIR infrared rays. “This ain’t no ordinary mouse” became our slogan.
I was taken all over the planet (electronically, by car, and by plane). I reconnected with old friends and made some new ones. Everyone I encountered was eager to help me to move this project along.
We were on the right track. There were only a couple of hurdles. And those hurdles brought back to me, the words of Suze Orman, “be true to who you really are”…..and Randy Pausch’s Last Lecture...”those walls are there for a reason”. We moved onward. Things were coming together. Things were getting done.
Then one day I overheard my son say to a friend, as he pointed to a sketch of the WarmMe logo on my vision board, “10 months ago this was all my mom had”, then he picked up a box from my desk, and showed it to his friend. It was the WARM MOUSE. His friend reached over and touched the warm mouse plugged into the computer….”WOW”.
The idea had come to fruition.
So now it’s here. Available. Affordable. Necessary.
This project has taught me to have faith in ones’ self and ones’ ideas. The rest will follow.
